Many thanks to Greg from Sherwin-Williams for making a house call (bus call?) first thing this morning.
Greg evaluated the paint situation, determining we’ll need to cover the current oil base with an acrylic primer to create a smooth and welcoming surface for the mural painting to come.
Due to Robbi’s current slate of other mission-critical responsibilities, I will be responsible for priming this sucker.
Sensing my panic, Greg made all sorts of delightfully specific recommendations about rollers (low-nap mohair) and brushes (1″ with an angled tip), gave helpful advice about sanding and taping, and delivered an encouraging pep talk.
(If Greg believes in me, I can believe in myself.)
Having made a plan, Greg is now working on tracking down the various paints we’ll need. Like everything else, paint is in short supply at the moment. But Greg is on it! This morning’s consult is yet another example of people stepping forward to share their expertise and make this project come together.
